“It would be impossible to accomplish our mission without our loyal friends who care.”

Letter from Board
Welcome to Ascension Place and St. Anne’s Place!

Ascension Place and St. Anne’s Place had another tremendous year in 2008 thanks to all of our wonderful donors and supporters.  As we move into 2009, we have many new and exciting things planned.  St. Anne’s Place is starting a new aftercare program to move families from its temporary program (two-month stay) into permanent housing.  To help families achieve this outcome a full-time aftercare advocate will provide support for 25 families over a two-year period. Ascension Place residents are working on a mural in the building with artists from Juxtaposition and will be able to participate in a photography workshop this summer, as well as other art projects, through our MRAC-supported Visiting Artist Program.

We are also in the process of planning our annual fundraiser, A Taste of Jazz, which this year will take place on Thursday, October 1st at the Metropolitan Ballroom.  This festive event will feature a silent auction, delicious meal and live jazz music.  Join in the fun by attending the event, donating a silent auction item or sponsoring a table!

We rely heavily on the generosity of others in our community to help us meet the needs of the many women and children we serve.  We are thankful to every church, business, foundation and concerned community member who helps to support our programs by making financial gifts, donating much needed items or volunteering their time.  In this time of economic recession we are seeing an increased demand for services at both of our programs and find that the women and families are staying longer because they can’t find affordable housing—we need your continued support more than ever!

For information on how to get involved, please contact Janice Linneman at Ascension Place via phone or email at 612.588.0861 or janicelinneman@ascensionplace.org.

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,
Melissa Froehle, Board Chair
